I surely am an amazing guy, not that I praise myself, but my friends so reckon ! Why ? Coz I keep on changing Sim Cards and my cell numbers time and again much to my cronies’ dismay.Record attempt. Since June 2003, I have used 3 numbers of BPL(including the 1 that im using now), 3 numbers of airtel, 3 numbers of orange and 1 number of Trump. I have left aside Reliance and Tata, the sole reason behind it being, changing handsets. So, as my previous review stated, I was using Airtel Friendz card from Jan2005 till around 15 days back. BPL Mobile’s service has grown to an optimum level now - the tower is just a few dinosaur hopps from my residence. So their network quality has improved drastically. The new Campus Zone card sure seemed interesting and I longed to change my mobile number - so, I bought a new 9821 series (Currently BPL has introduced 9870 series - doesn’t appeal to me ) Campus Zone Card. The card is valued at Rs.125/- ( some dealers try to sell it at Rs.350/-) in Mumbai. Recharges are available in all normal denominations. Now comes the fun part. The card has been specially made to serve the collegiates and their friends who may hang out in some zones most of their time. The whole of Mumbai Metro has been divided into 15 Zones - covering almost the majority area of that place. For example, Zone 1 covers the whole of Churchgate, Colaba, Cuffe Parade ( compared to Airtel’s ’’just college campus’’ ) so that wherever you roam in that area, you get a discounted calling tariff for local calls. Mumbai Metro extends all the way till Kalyan. So the latest Zone, Z 15 covers Kalva, Mumbra, Diva, Dombivli, Kalyan, Mahape and Turbhe. When the card is bought, a Zone has to be registered by calling a Toll free number. The first Zone setup is free. Any later changes in the Zone are supplementary @ Rs.25/- per change. There is absolutely no monthly rental for enjoying this service wherein, you get a flat rate of 2ps/sec within a Zone. Outside the Zone, you pay a rate of 3ps/sec + 80ps connecting charge for all local calls. There is this one thing called as SMS which is synonymous with Teenagers and collegiates. Local SMSes are just 50ps per 160 characters - on par with Trump’s. All these facilities at . Amazing, is it not? Lots of other kool facilities have been introduced with this card by BPL. I bought this BPL card recently and feel indeed very happy about it. If any one is gonna buy a new card, surely BPL Campus Zone is the one to go with
