Well, yes, Germans arent particularly renowned for their hospitality, but my experience with Lufthansa has been fairly alright.Yes, there are areas where they can improve, especially the Wilcommen sans the smile, but youd be in luck if you managed to elicit anything that remotely resembles happiness from the poor Lufthansa girls, even by trying to say Cheers! the German way, while disembarking!
, sums it all.In fact, if I were to judge the airline, I think, theyve just concentrated on the airplane part, as opposed to the human part. So, while the cabin interiors in the business class were calming and relaxing, the seats fairly comfortable, [why on Earth dont they add inflatable lumbar support as standard? ], the inflight entertainment system alright, what was really amiss was the service from the heart that is so much a part of really successful airlines like Singapore Airlines, or Thai or even KLM.And remember this is business class, where the cabin temperature already seemed brumal , [I shudder to think what the temperatures must have been like in the Economy section when I entered it].Nobody to take my coat as I settled into my seat, and later as soon as I slumped into it, an airhostess came running to query if Sir would like to relocate to a solo seat.Like, yeah, who cares about Sir, are you comfortable? Can I get you a drink? How is that seat?.Well, the last time I flew just about any other airline, including Air India, they all did......except Lufthansa....
Hmmm, Im not going to say anything about the food, except it was Airline food.I dont understand why people even compare Airline food. All of it is mass packed in the same great Hotels/Caterers.Naturally, I carry my own food whenever travelling.
The times Ive flown on Luftansa, theyve not been punctual, taking off and landing behind schedule, in fact.Otherwise, if you want to get from point A -> B, broadband internet access, laptop recharge points, satelite phones, on demand entertainment and radio, this is trhe Airline for you.
The only grouch:Youll have to fly in the the company of not very happy looking stewardesses.Brrrr! Can I get that blanket please?
