MTNL has recently introduced an Economy plan for prepaid service. As on date this is the cheapest in mobile services. The monthly rental is Rs 300/- & this includes the talk time of Rs 300/-. So this becomes a rent free plan. The call O/G charges are Rs 1.90/min to land line & cell phones. The CLIP is free. There are no other hidden costs. If you have a MTNL Land line there is no security deposit for local. The roaming charges are also less by 50% than other providers. The roaming rental is also only Rs 60/month. If you compair it with other service providers for similar plan, there the rental is appox. Rs 600/month, CLIP Rs 75/month & Roaming is Rs 99/month. O/G call charges are appox Rs 2.40/min.
