Intresting Adaptation

Yup. Interesting adaptation. Macbeth is perhaps the best of shakespears stories. The emotion of guilt ..of culpability is perhaps the most difficult to potray on screen.

The ethereality that this movie brings is amazing. While macbeth was more about power, vishal bharadwaj paints a very indian emotion to it. LOVE

The three witches of macbeth here are played by naseer & om puri both of whom are superlative as ever in their performances & do bring in some humor relief to this rather dark movie.

Credit must be given to vishal bharadwaj for such an intresting adaptation.

Irfan Khan has done a good job as the protagonist & the role seems tailormade for him. He has this look of insanity around his eyes..the only other actor than nana patekar to have this look.

Tabu will take a national award for this for sure. The whole picture is made from her viewpoint. She plays the role of a manupulative woman.

Pankaj kapur perfectly plays role of the mafiahead abbaji .

Another noteable mention is piyush mishra who plays one of abbaji`s henchman... he is the guy to watch out for ............

The songs particularly rone do & tu mere ruabu hai are hummable & nice.

The movie is a bit long though... it could have been just 1 1/2 hrs...

The cinematography is excellent too... it creates a dark atmosphere which is very much needed.

A nice relief from the senseless rona dhona song dance sequences going around nowadays... ... Must watch if you like sensible cinema & Gangsta Flicks ;)
