Well, I own a Swift VXI petrol and has clocked 5000kms till now -from August’2007- November 30th’2007) and this is what I would like to say about it.
The car is just okay.One appreciable feature is hitting 80kmph in 2nd gear.WOW.
A/C is strong and cold.Whn you drive on rough or little bumpy road, suspension makes a lot of noise.Its quite irritating.The doorgaps bring in lot of dust.engine is not that smooth as said.Rough on cold conditions.Car revs up for long on high RPM for a longer time when I start it up for the first time in a day.When contacted the maruti people, they say it’s the speciality of MPFI engines and that is to bring down the pollution. Somebody tell me if vxi is an MPFI engine.
When on very low speed, its hard to get to 1st gear.Lodged a complaing about it, but of no use.
The dealer is a stupid fellow.The little lamps on the front bumper (i don’t know what they’re called as) are of no use. Somebody tell me what’s the real use of them apart from an extra feature or style. Seats are like you’re sitting in a pit.Could have been a little higher. The speaker in the doors bring in a lot of vibration on high volumes.
Apart form that the rear door/hatch is tough to close with tray inside.Mis alignment.Somebody tell me what can be done for it?Rest is all fine.
Had a first servicing.My complaint was about a sound from the belts (don’t know why they were designed to be open!!).Is fixed now.
By the by I get a mileage of 14kmpl in moderate traffic.

Just wanted to add a few more points after the Second Service.
All they did was pollution check (NO CERTIFICATE) - NO BILL HE-HE-HE.
When I gave my car for servicing, , i had the following complaints
Rough engine - belts were tightened. Now its absolutely silent
Thud sound when a/c is turned on - Tightened the a/c belt..now okay
As ususal(laughs) suspension problem - Oiled the suspension.Its fine now.
Bumper fix - they didn’t knew what to do with it?@#!!
well before I went in for service, a bolero hit my car from behind at approx 20-30 kmph.God bless me, just a little scratch on the rear bumper.Absolutely no other damage.Lucky that the rear bumper is projected way out from the hatch door.If it was fixed like that in santro or indica, the hatch door would have gone for a toss.
One thing i’ve noticed is the car doesn’t seem to pull in second door.I mean when you slow down and the speedometer shows speed little more than 10kmph, I need to press the accelarator high and the car moves with little jerks.continuous gear shift even in moderate traffic.
But on long drives, its pretty damn good.Absolutely no sound even at very top speed.But the wind seems to make a lot of noise which you can hear with the windows closed.The rear view mirrors, seems to slow down the car as they’re very big.I guess the wind sound is because of it.
Somehow there are some issues with the car which I can’t figure out.
PS: PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM VARUN MOTORS, JUBILEE HILLS, HYDERABAD.THEIR WORKSHOP iS VERY FAR FROM THE CITY AND ONE HAS TO GIVE THE CAR AT THE SHOWROOM FOR SERVICING.

Hope you’re having a great time with the swift. Well this is my review after a long time.
To start off with, I want to tell you that the ground clearance is not so high as said by the company.I feel that the front bumper is too low.Also the suspension is a little flex and rides low with three people of 70kgs each are in the car.My car has done about 13000 kms and at this point of time the silencer is broken.No big problem but is vibrating when driving and makes (trrrr...trrr sound :) ).
The pick is quite good and the point is I was away for 8 months and the car was taken out about 10 times.Some how its all in good shape. As i’m looking for a change in the silencer, can anyone tell me how can I get a sports car sound for my swift vxi. Will that effect the car performance.I’m getting a mileage of 15kmpl without A/C and about 13 with AC in city driving.
