The Boom was followed by a Bust & phew, went down many a sites like https://mdspeak.com. If you look out for mdspeak on the web, the ’’domain’’ is for sale!. That means the promoters of the site are either broke or have pilled up cash & left for Timbuktu. https://mdspeak.com - I remember that this site had a lot of information. Information was arranged for Doctors & for Patients which ofcourse needed registration. Whatever, this site had Good information, was attractive, well laid out, easy to navigate & had a lot of good people working on it, I can say that as I had been approached by Indian Medical Portals Ltd, the co. that owned the site as a senior consultant. To generate revenue later on during the downfall, the promoters thought of getting into HIS [ Hospital Information systems ], aka, HMS [ Hospital Management systems ]. I remember that this was the only site that was in the process of compiling the Indian version of the PDR [Physicians Desk Reference] which is found on the desk of every physician in the west. This process of compiling a PDR is exhaustive & one has to take all the monographs of all pharmaceutical products from the respective companies that market them along with an NOC. MDspeak had almost done it...well almost. I remember that there were in total 152 Medical Information sites that sprung out of nowhere during that period. The figure of 152 is Indian Healthcare portals. If you have to sell a product or a service you have to be different & all 152 were alike. Internet is an unregulated medium & hence one could find a lot of duplication of contents...cut, copy, paste. The truth being that the site does not exist anymore. The doctors who have registered their information MAY have their information sold to someone related to Healthcare & well the domain itself is up for sale!
