Reservations - From Mandal to Manmohan.....

Let me apologise first for putting in this article under the Ministry of Finance. But there’s a reasoning for that too. Dr. Manmohan Singh first becaome a Public Figure as the Finance Minister as as they say - The Rest is all History.

Apart from being the Prime Minister, Dr. Singh was in news Yesterday to be precise in Mumbai Advocating Reservations for Dalits / OBC’s in the PRIVATE SECTOR. I have high respect for Dr. Singh as an Economist and as a Finanace Minister, But There seems to be little respect for the Prime Minister avatat of the same.

In a country already plagued by Petty Politics, Caste Politics, Regional Politics there need not be another distinction for a livelihood. What we need is to recognise ourselves as HUMAN BEINGS and as INDIANS. The mandal commision ( at that point of time I was just a kid ) made headlines and I really couldnt comprehend the extent to which it would damage to the country, now nobody would even remember of it, but one needs to just take a look at the system to see how incorrect the decision was.

In my opinion, Reservations as such should be BANNED, Reservations is another form of Being flawed where it really matters. Our Inner Instincts makes us beasts, though polished ones and Darwin’s Theory is as true today for us as it was when it was propagated - Survival of the Fittest.

Also, instread of Protecting a certain segment by reservations what can be done is, the segment as Backward, Minoritybe given greater exposure in terms of money, energy and time to ensure that everone has a level playing field and the FITTEST SURVIVE.

If we are to survive as a nation, then perry prejudices should be weeded out, and in my opinion it shall only come by PRACTISING and not preching the same. I do believe there are many out there who share a similar approach for the same and who believe that they can make a difference.

One more thing I would like to point out is the Present Condition of the North Eastern Part of OUR COUNTRY. We have had so many spineless politicians who have totally ensured that the total area is in a CHAOTIC condition. Yesterday, I had the honour of watching our Honourable Home Minister on TV and believe me it was PATHETIC to watch a guy who seemed ill equipped to do anything for the same.

For those who have’nt been to the North East, let me tell u its one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES ON THE EARTH AND IF THERE WAS HEAVEN, THEN IT IS IN THE NORTH EAST, I do believe that We Speak our minds out and MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I believe in MAKING THINGS HAPPEN rather than WAITING FOR THINGS to happen. Jai Hind.
