Filmy!!

Come Friday night and a bunch of us managed to get tickets to an exclusive premiere of Mission Impossible 3 at Mumbai’s Fame Adlabs, a full ONE WEEK before its ‘junta’ release. So I thought let’s take advantage of the opportunity and write a review that everyone’s gonna be dying to read :-). So here goes...

Mission Impossible 3 - Love story of a spy

That’s the best way I can describe the film. Now now, I don’t mean that’s a bad thing. For someone who survives on a healthy diet of Bollywood masala flicks, it was quite a treat to watch Tom Cruise making puppy eyes at his lady and getting teary eyed at the drop of a hat (read: gun)

Anyway, the film is good, and gives you what you expect from a ’Mission Impossible.’ The action, flying gadgets, slick editing and swift pace keep you on the edge of your seat till you realise it’s already the interval. And the second half doesn’t disappoint either. The story’s good, the action sequences breathtaking and the actors do justice to their roles.

I’m not going to reveal the story. It’s worth a watch.

But, like my brother put it, "You could see that it was Tom Cruise acting in it. It wasn’t Ethan Hunt. Just like in all Shah Rukh Khan movies, you never forget that it’s him and he’s just playing a character."

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised to see an inspired version one year down the line, starring Shah Rukh Khan (or the younger version - Shahid Kapur) and Preity Zinta, replete with songs in Switzerland and Amsterdam between missions.

Namumkin Preshun, anyone?
