What happened when they thought this one up?

Personally, I haven’t yet come across a motorola that I really like. This will be my little rant on its downsides. I will include its good point however, then you can make your own decision. Enjoy.

The Motorola V2288 is generally targeted at a younger audience, with its bright coloured rubber wrap-arounds and its bendy kind of shape. It kind of resembles what would be reffered to as a Chick phone. The only reason I bought one (and then gave it to my girlfriend within a couple of days) was because it was cheap and had WAP.

Anyone who has come into contact with a Motorola before knows what the menus are like. They ARE easy to use, however they dont look good, there are no shortcuts by pressing Menu, then the number of the function you want.

Also, something that younger people would be looking for are the Games. You wont find any on this phone.

It does have one cool feature, a built in FM Radio. Simply plug in the supplied handfree (stereo too) and hit the radio button on the side.

The WAP feature isn’t very good. Personally, I would like it if the backlight stayed on during WAP sessions. Because of the time some pages take to load, the light goes out and you cant see when they have loaded. Also, it can sometimes be hard to disconnect from WAP sessions. You have to press and hold C until you return to your homepage, and then press C again to end. Not good if there is a slow connection. You can not set up your WAP unless you are actually online, so you need to give money to your telco just to set up preferences.

Sound quality on this phone is also pretty poor and the battery dies VERY quickly even when not being used.

Basically I wouldnt recommend this phone to anyone unless they want WAP really badly at a cheap price and they dont need it for anything else. Go for a Nokia or Ericcson.
