Just out of college, with aspirations to be a writer, Andreal ands an ill-defined job as assistant to the editor of RUNWAYmagazine--Miranda Priestly (rhymes with beastly). Soon Andrea is socaught up with Mirandas outrageous errands (pick up her dog, her car, her just-so lunch) and the world of fashion that she neglects her boyfriend and her needy roommate.
Theres no doubt Andy learns much from watching Miranda at work, even with all the insults and fools errands.
I think the script tries to paint Miranda into a corner, the lonely careerist who cant keep a husband or find personal happiness but Streep wont wallow in the cliches of victimhood.
Miranda is played by Meryl Streep, an actress who carries nuance in her every pore, and who endows even her lighthearted comic roles with a rich implication of inner life. I just loved her whispery diction as perfect as her posture.
A must watch guys
