Going by the David Dhawan trends, there are a few things which are a must in this movie as well.
It has to be a comedy no 1.
It has to have slapstick comedy
The movie is inspired by some Hit Hollywood and their remake bollywood hits
The heroine is the center of the story but the actress hardly needs any acting skills.
Weird characters like comical villain, silly neighbours who neigh like horses
Filthy jokes... well played
Logic - Not Applicable. Microscope and lenses strictly not allowed
Happy Ending
Entertaining
Anybody who watches this movie with the above pre-conceived notions or somewhat similar opinions would definitely enjoy the movie. Its a downright comedy with good comic timing shown by most actors. Salman Khan aka Sallu again looks great and prompts some of the first-class public to climb the stage and dance along with him during the songs.
Post Hera-pheri, Akshay Kumar is maturing as a good comedy actor, too. I was wondering how has he stopped kicking the goons and started playing that cool. But he really is cool, in here. At some moments in the movie, he has really made Sallu feel miserable, as he happens to come as Shani in Sallus love life. He nearly took away the girl but u know..the director was partial enough to end up giving the lady to Sallu...
And I forgot...the lady is played by Priyanka Chopra
Rajpal Yadav has stolen the show with his double role, jyotish vidya, concentrated Hindi and portrayal of the Leader of Eagles Gang.
Kader Khan was again at his trump card - playing a person who changes roles everyday. One day he is blind, the other day he is a cop and another day, he becomes a child and so on. Shashikala too brought some pinch of humour as Sallus grandma, towards the end of movie.
Amrish Puri and Sateesh Shah do justice to their roles as the retired colonel and retired-hurt security officer respectively...
Indian Cricket team is trying to do really well, if that?s not in cricket then its in a different arena...Once again, it can be said there will always be a nexus between Indian Cricket and Bollywood. Young cricket stars - Bhajji, Kaif, Nehra, Srinath, Irfan and Parthiv are playing themselves in the movie. And our beloved budding commentator - Siddhu, is there with his tongue-twisting, stomach-crunching comments. Lastly, Kapil Dev da jawab nahee.... I dont know when will he learn to speak proper Hindi...
Shefali Zariwala of Kaanta laga fame got a fair deal of publicity in this movie and she was successful in adding some more spice to the Hot curry.
Also ..watch out for the a la Matrix special effects scene where Sallu beats the eagles gang taking them for his competitor Shani, under the effect of Mc Dowells orange juice.
Overall, a wonderfully entertaining movie, worth watching with friends/spouse.
