The odyssey of Rain ..hell

It was Tuesday afternoon.

I was busy on my PC when my colleague came and said.

’Sohail Look outside. It’s raining’.

I replied  “what’s news in it?’

he said.’please have a look’.

As we watched outside it felt like the wrath of nature.

Then it was declared half-day in office. people started to move fast….

It poured and poured… we dint had the guts to move. With our bike…

As Bandra was not affected much. we had no clue about the damage outside….

News came that roads are blocked and rails are out of service it was around 4 pm.

Then a call came from one of my cousin “S*ohail I can’t get out of the Bus….

the water level is rising .I m trapped at BKC(Bandra Kurla Complex)…"

listening to his voice my heart started to visualize the scene and I was reckless…

the cell got disconnected… I tried and tried …but couldn’t get in contact.

my colleagues said. *“Its nothing don’t fear it’s just a small rain.”

Then I got call from home

“house is underwater at chest level please stay in office and don’t come

home everyone is fine here.”*. still my cousin was not in contact he was trapped

at Kurla again, I was able to connect him who was in double decker bus,

I said “ please jump in water u know swimming forget the rest…" the cell was

again disconnected. Its was like hell to think how he must be….then his Sms

came that he was safe at Kurla station…I replied that I am too safe and you

take care don’t move until the water is cleared.

Smoking and chatting we slept at about 4:30 am in office….we had no clue.

The next very day me and my colleagues started again with the bike…

it was the first time in my life I saw the traffice that covered the whole city…

We came back and again we started at later afternoon that day.

As we went thru the streets we saw the deserted BEST buses, Cars, rickshaws

etc all around they were still in water….*

First Sighting of shocking scene*

As I entered kurla thru BKC.I saw the walls of Taximan colony building. It had

fallen in the compound over the cars parked…then there were cars, trucks buses

on the road and in all the directions it was hard to visualize how it was possible?

Then I had to take the longer distance with my pulsar, I had to walk at least 2-3 Kms

in the waist level water with bike…the only thing made me going was I have to reach

home.

When I reached home I heard the news and then my heart was broken… it was a

dooms day for kurlaites …the water level was above double-decker BEST buses …

people in the car thought the water level will go down …and they died in their cars…

4 woman thought to say back in shop whose shutter was open….were found dead laterz.

Dead peoples were all around… some with their hands on the front of the car and

some in the car and some over the street lamps….everyone had something to say…

one of my friend drowned while saving others…

The next day my office friend came to my house and we all friends went to others

place to check them.thank god every one was fine…kalina was in bad shape the walls

of Air port went down like cards ….water was till the first floor ….More then 100 peoples

were found dead and many still missing(presumed dead)…. the worst news…

landslide in saki naka…. Confirmed news is that 160 slums are under the rubble

and the dead are still being removed as I write….Seeing them I forgot that I was

also affected…

I had seen a man dead wearing slippers….he was shivering whole night and no one

was there to help.

the mumbaites were very helpful be it congress, shiv sena, BJP, Samajwadi etc…

everyone did what he could do …

I m proud to live Among these Brave and helpful people.

may god grant them sucess.Amen

Other then those thugs who broke the cars and away with car CD and valuables…

May God Bless all those souls who died and

give patience to their relatives who lost their near and dear ones.

Amen
