I am a big fan of Saroj Khan and admire the way she picturises her dances.its just not dance moves which are excellent but the general picturisation, backdrop etc is excellent too.
But coming to the show.the show just sucks.concept, hosting, content
I had misfortune of watching one episode of this crappy program and lo and behold I am ready to write a review on it.
concept - dont know who suggested Saroj Khan the idea of having a dance class show based on film dance numbers? I can appreciate something like sessions on traditional dance forms or western dance forms like salsa, tango etc but on hindi film songs? Come on give me a break. Who on the earth would want to learn how to dance to Ek Do teen from tezaab.you can learn the moves by seeing the sequence repeatedly - we dont need a whole show to do that
hosting and content - Saroj Khan is just too overbearing on the show. Sometimes I feel the show is to feed her ego(maybe concept is her own) . Her narrative is boring and does not enthuse at all. Her’she-knows-it-all’ and patronising attitude is irritating. Last but not the least - she too performs a routine - believe me - no other sight is as revolting as Saroj Khan jiving away on stage.
Another thing which stands out( in a negative way) is sycophancy .the necessary clapping of the students to every Saroj Khan move, the incessant noddingof heads in agreement to whatever SK says just kills the show
