’’NAINITAL’’

-----------------

Heelloouu MSians!!!

Hey people I guess all of you had a wonderful Christmas and those of you who didn’t, just remember one thing ’’there is no sorrow that the heaven cannot heal’’ and the message for the atheists is ’’trust doesn’t rust’’ and...and...and...[the sentence is long enough].

Well coming back to the topic::NAINITAL, this is the place where I had been visiting regularly during my school days in Ranikhet and visited again this year in April when I went to leave my younger brother at his residential school.

During these two visits, the first and the foremost thing that I did was figured out the difference in the hotel rents in summers and that of the winters.Accordingly I’ve named them as winters=on season[cuz of snowfall], summers=also on-season[from the point of view of a person from a hot plain area like Bhubaneswar], rainy season=off season[it gets really messy when it rains there].The on-season rents are comparitively 4 times of that of the off-season days.Well, April is supposed to be off-season according to Nainital economy sopes the rents were comparatively low.I stayed up at Indiana and the rent was 1500/- for a non-luxury suite in April.Make your own calculations.During school days, we stayed at Fair Heavens[well, this was sponsered by the school sopes no idea about the rents].

The last time I visited there, figured out the names of my friends and me on a tree near the town basketball court that we had engraved around 6 years ago during a camp.Surprisingly...???the names weren’t there.Sad enough but chalta hai...firse likh ke aa gayi.

Now speaking about the place, it is on a hill surrounded by honeysuckles[a plant with drooping purple flowers and the purple colour is majestic I must say].Its a very pleasant hill station with the stupenduous site seeing of Naini jheel[the lake] on a slow rowing boat. Please people, its a sincere request, if you visit the temple there, do not throw coins into the lake thinking it to be some lucky sign or stuff like that. The recent surveys have proved that if such activities continue for long, we’ll soon see a spectacular hill-station as Nainital sinking away.

If anyone is on a shopping spree for branded warm outfits with the latest designs, then Nainital is the place with comparatively reasonable prices than that of the plains.

Enough about that, that and all that. Now coming to my favourite::FOOD.

MOMOs of every kind you will find there with the typical Tibety taste that you will find nowhere else but in Nainital. My fav restaurants were the ones near the Tibety market in front of the temple and Nanak’s.And not to forget the special ’’khatta paani’’ in paani puri[the khatta paani does have a very unique taste], jaljeera as well nnn...bhutta[maize].

What I like most about Nainital is the special memories of the times spent with friends get rekindled each time I go there. It used to be a six days camp but we were so much exhilerated beyond limits that now when I think of it, the 6 days appear just 6 seconds. To add, the warm attitude of ’’pahadi’’ people is very welcoming on every face you look at[well, very difficult to distinguish the looks cuz everyone appeared veryyy fair, pink and light-eyed].Given a wish, I would ask for those naughty, enthusiastic, light-hearted moods absolutely tensionfree with the rarest of relationships called ’’true friendship’’.Woops!!!my friends would kill me if I don’t mention about the stupendous comments we passed on the guys there in a huuuuu...ge group of gurls[mine was an all gurls residential school] and the way we got the guys of our contemporary schools glaring at us when we laughed our heads off for reasons absolutely ’’NOTHING’’.Who can gimme those fun days, if not forever, at least for 6 DAYS amidst the honeysuckles only in NAINITAL!!!

My suggestion would be::go there with a zingbang of friends or family, you will enjoy equally. The last station on rail track is at Kathgodam but take it easy, commutation from there to Nainital is very comfortable and easy.Just hire a taxi or more efficient would be a bus[as they are safer].But beware while choosing the hotel to stay as brokers keep hovering around who take comissions from hotels and unknowingly the comission is added in your hotel rent in such a manipulated manner that it would be difficult for you to charge the hotel people on any grounds. So my suggestion is go to 2 or 3 hotels, inspect the rooms properly, compare the rents and accordingly choose to stay.

Take Care
