Hard hitting fast paced film about TV Cameraman Shivaji Rao (Anil Kapoor) whose news report on a riot which also uncovers face of crooked chief minister Balraj Chauhan (Amrish Puri) gets him promoted to Senior News Reporter. His boss soon gives him a show (On the lines of ’60 minutes’) where he has to interview The chief Minister. Shivaji Rao exposes the hidden face of Balraj Chauhan. Chauhan then challenges him to be the chief minister of the state for one day (which is possible according to the law) juts to feel what it is to be like. Shivaji Rao accepts it and turns the face of the state. After much public pressure his forced to continue to be the CM this comes to him at a big cost. Very hard hitting film, never lets you down for a minute, Outstanding performance by Anil Kapoor (who maintains the record for being one of the very few Indian Actors who has never ever given a bad performance till date). Extremely well supported by Paresh Rawal, Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever, Rani Mukherjee, Shivaji Satam and Pooja Batra. The Songs are really unwanted and the movie could have benn well off without it. The Background Score by A.R.Rehman is above average. The climax is sudden and shocking. The 3 top scenes are
1) In the initial reels, a riot breaks out soon after a BEST driver pushes a student from the bus. The pandemonium that follows thereafter is brilliantly executed.
2) Similarly, Anil Kapoor peeling the mask off Amrish Puri’s face during the interview is superbly executed.
3) The climax scens is also hard hitting.
The film takes its inspiration from The Insider, Main Azaad Hoon, Meet John Doe, Leader and Indian (Which was dubbed as Hindustani in Hindi).

2) There are instances where People have hold big positions in politics without standing for elections. Rajiv Gandhi became the PM of India without standing for election. So did Rabri devi become the CM of Bihar without fighting the elections.

1) In the start when Anil Kapoor’s mother applies Mehndi to her husband. The next scene the mehndi is gone.
2) Watch how the geographical locations in bombay changes from JerriMeri (The Airport slums) to marine drive in seconds during the fight scenes on the bus.
3) If you watch very losely The CM oath ceremony is shown being held in a hall with decorations. The ceremony is always held at the vidhan Sabha without any decorations.
4) When Anil Kapoor gifts Rani Mukherjee a cellular phone, she throws it into the lake. The next scene the phone is intact. Even after Shivaji Satam throws the cell phone in to the fire, it is shown to be working later on.
5) When Anil Kapoor carries the injured student to the hospital (some JK hospital in fountain area..that there is no such hospital there is a diffrent question all together), after the students wake up there are no TV camera. Yet This scene is shown in a news reprt that follows later.
