Neel Restaurant is located in North Bangalore, near Ramaiah College. During my last wedding anniversary, my wife suggested that we go there and enjoy a quiet meal.
The ambience is nothing great(considering the amount of money that they charge and its proximity to Dollars colony). They have built some huts kind of seating areas and there are no separate areas for serving drinks. So, be prepared to sit with some noisy, boisterous idiots, who may constantly stare at you and give you those nasty looks.
When the staff brought a kid’s chair for my daughter, I thought they were really caring. However, the chair was broken and my daughter fell down from it.
We searched through the menu looking for any special items but ended up ordering the usual paneer dishes and naan. We also ordered some appetisers and soft drinks. The appetisers arrived quickly and tasted good. However, it took almost 1 hour to get our main course and the wait is really long considering the drunkards that sit there and make lots of noises. The naan was nice and the paneer dishes were average. We also ordered some "very expensive" usual sweet dishes.
The food is very expensive(again, considering the poor ambience) and complete meal for two should cost you around Rupees 1500(without the drinks).
The whole experience was a complete let down(and that too on our wedding anniversary) and we have decided never to visit this restaurant again.
