Makes Natural History a Whole Lot More Interesting

Ben Stiller plays an out of work divorced father in this highly amusing comedy. Larry Daley is out of work and his ex-wife, played by 24’s Kim Raver, wants him to get a job and a permanent place to live because she wants stability for their 10 year old son.  Larry applies for work at a job agency and is sent to apply for a job at the local Museum of Natural History.  Cecil, Dick Van Dyk, and the two other night watchmen relinquish their job to Larry who isn’t quite sure that it’s the right job for him.

When Larry turns up for his first night of work he realises that something isn’t quite right when the life size statue of T-Rex in the main lobby is missing.  Things get more interesting from there as Larry is chased by huns, recieves advice from a statue of Teddy Roosevelt, Robin Williams, and gets trapped in the middle of a civil war conflict.  Owen Wilson also stars as coyboy figurine Jedediah. The plot thickens with the ex-night watchmen doing the unthinkable and M\Night in the Museum turns out to be a great movie with a underlying message about the special relationship between a father and so.

The ending was a bit off but other than that it is highly entertaing, well scripted, contains great acting and leaves us with an all round polished product. I recommend it for 10 years plus.  It said that there was swearing on the rating but I didn’t notice any.
