Digital Vs Phone cam - Part II

PART -II

In two parts - My review and Your comments.....

Frankly the hunt for information will never end. I hunted for information for these, But at time found things which are not worth mentioning in this review. I gave the first part of the review somewhere way back on 28 Dec, Since then I was hunting for more information. Sometimes I was busy but finally I reached on conclusion that if I had to write this review, I require you all to add up your expert comments. Hunting for information is always better when its shared with millions... :-) So here is my review with the best I could gather... Its incomplete...but I think it will help you guys out there... Things which are missing, pls feel free to add them up in your comments and give a fullshape to this review.. Thanks in advance to all....

Here it goes....

If we talk about digi cams, the kind of architecture, technology and refined output they are having is unmatched. Let me give you an example here. Lets compare:-

  1. Nokia N series (the latest) –2 MP

  2. Regular Digital camera 4MP ( Difference in picture size only)- You will understand the specifics later in this write-up

Why I chose these two… Nokia N Series gives the Carl Zessis Lenses which other 4 Mp cameras also have. So no technical diff between the two on lenses. Lets find out if an ameture digital camera owner ca survive using the phone camera instead of his digital camera.

Before we start with the details let me tell you that the number of mega pixel is not necessarily an indication of image quality. It is just related to the dimension of the images you shoot. It also means you will have greater level of details in the image. A given digital photos quality depends on the camera optics, the software built-in and the image sensor(most Imp) which captures the photo signals into the camera and sends it back to the built-in Rom to store. This image is what you see as the JPEG Picture.

Talking abt a 2 MP Picture (image), it will look good on a Desktop monitor. It also captures a great amount of details in it. The picture is print quality and you can easily take regular size printouts of your favorite trips without losing the quality.

There are more features, pls feel free to add your points so that everyone is getting a more specific review.
