Hi guys and gals??.. this is about the Nokia 1108 mobile phone. I have already presented a review on another model of Nokia earlier, now since this is comparatively a latest model, I thought my review would be little useful for the dear MSians.
Well, I have always trusted Nokia due to their reliability and longevity. On my ghastly experiences with other handsets like Motorola & Philips, I sincerely recommend only Nokia phones to everyone.
Yes, moving on to Nokia 1108 model, this has everything you’re looking for in a phone. This is very compact almost like the Nokia 1100 model, it has features like a built-in yellowish flashlight and anti-slip grip so you’ll be ready for anything. It has the usual kind of Nokia games too (pre-loaded ones like Snake II & Space Impact) for players. But the fact that there are just two games is little disappointing while other Nokia phones have at least 5 preloaded games.
First, on the messaging side, it has some SMS templates for quick and easy sending of pre-defined messages. It is possible to send a picture greeting with picture messaging and the SMS distribution list is there for sending a single message to many people. It is guaranteed to save up to 50 text messages. Also available are the speed dialing for SMS sending, SMS chat & predictive text inputs.
About its other features, it has a full screen animated screensaver & a variety is available for us to choose as per our wish. Like the other latest models of Nokia, it has one Nokia tone and 34 monophonic buzzer tones. Since they are monophonic, there is a very good clarity in the music / tones, and the ringing tone is quite louder and highly audible in heavy traffics too. It has the ringing tone composer also.
This model is very compact & unlike the Model 1100 which has very tiny keys (fairly difficult to operate) this model has relatively larger keys. Well, on the other features side, it has everything that every other Nokia phone has, viz., the Chinese Lunar calendar support, date and time screensaver, key guard, vibration alert, count-down timer and the alarm / reminders, stopwatch, speed dialing upto 9 numbers, call-waiting, call divert facilities etc.
My sister purchased this model 3 months back at a cost of Rs.3, 800/-, for which she has also been given a hands-free as complimentary. I don?t know if all the dealers give the hands-free. But when compared with Nokia 1100 which costs around Rs.3, 300/-, this model is little costly but may be since this has some additional features too, I would recommend this model to one and all & I am sure that for its compact, sleek & attractive looks, the buyers would certainly like it.
Another lovely feature of the Nokia 1108 is that, messages could be composed in Hindi, our National Language, & the recipient should also have the Hindi option, otherwise it gets received as junk characters in the form of small boxes. So, can we call this model ?AN INDIAN PHONE? ??? I think it?s a good technique of the manufacturers to promote their sales of this model.
Haah..... I just remembered, in this model, it is possible to transfer the contacts stored in the phone memory to SIM Memory and vice-versa. In the earlier (initially launched) models of Nokia, in fact, we would not even know whether our contacts are in the SIM Memory or the Phone memory. I think this is certainly a good feature!!
