My durable talk-horse!

Having decided to review products that have been my constant companions, I would like to wax eloquent about my trusty Nokia 3310. Even though I am thoroughly smitten by it, I will try to be as objective as I can in this review.

Features

The 3310 has features that are tailor made for no-nonsense kind of people. It has all the basic functionalities of any decent mobile phones and none of the frivolous features that other phones seem to be so proud about. Its menu is easy to use and navigate. Messaging is a breeze with the T9 automatic feature, templates and picture messaging. The ability to download and compose ring-tones is fun, as is the ability to download pictures. The games are fun to pay with. The Reminders feature has particularly helped me to meet my appointments on time. The calculator is of course very handy too. The voice tags feature and the customized ring-tones for different phone numbers are simply adorable.

Styling

I have found the size of the phone to be just right. Not too small, not too large. It neatly fits my palm. The metallic buttons, the large screen and the easy to use option buttons are cool. It becomes something of a style statement when I hand it around my neck with a belt.

Durability

The phone is extremely durable. I have dropped it, rubbed it on the floor, stamped on it (no kidding!), and its still working perfectly. I dont see it failing for a long long time to come. Its battery is extremely good too! I never switch off the phone and the Li-ion battery lasts 48 hours (inspite of my heavy jaw-jawing)

Nokia for me

To me, my 3310 has been a constant companion. It was interesting to read Nokia’s lead designers comments - ’’a handset is a person’s companion both in good times as well as bad.’’. Thats been very true with my 3310. Its been with me all the way.

I wouldn’t like to part with my 3310 for any other model. At the most, my compromise would be in favour of another Nokia model! (Can somebody from Nokia appoint me brand-ambassador?!!!)
