Great design which has turned out to be a lemon

I have been a strong proponent of Nokia phones until I bought the E 50. I was looking for a Business Phone with e-mail capabilities and Bluetooth. I thought the Symbian S 60  software would greatly enhance my phone utilisation, given its capability of installing third party software.

I must say, the phone has been a major dissapointment in the area of basic operations. Initially I had the issue of loudspeaker coming on when you answer the phone, which could only be solved by taking out the battery. This was solved by the firmware upgrade. Then I had the problem of SMS sending taking too long, for which SMS Accelerator patch had to be downloaded from the Nokia website and installed.

The phone is still vey slow when you try to scroll through the menus. The time taken to access SMS’es when an incoming message comes is frustratingly long and you find that the phone hangs in the interim.

It takes ages to go to contact menu and add details and any basic function on the phone involving the phone menus takes at least twice as compared to other phones.

I would definitely recommend that you avoid this phone.
