As part of the E series, Nokia targets the business users with this model.
Although it is designed to be a business phone, it has all the entertainment features that are found in the other music/camera phones.
I am owning it for 7 months and it has been a very good experience. As one can expect with this sort of phone, it covers the entire spectrum of features that are available in a typical mobile phone today with more emphasis on the features that are useful to the business users.
Features & Utilities:
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared, GPRS, 128MB built in memory, 2GB memory card included in the package, Very useful feature for business people who travel quite frequently, Metallic body.
Contacts - very elaborate contacts storage with so many details and this can be synchronized with a computer. Should be useful for people who are contact savvy.
Dictionary - Not an elaborate one but should be handy sometimes.
Intranet - used to connect to office network. This is a good feature.
Printers - can connect to a printer to take printouts
Barcode/text reader - the text reader is useful to simply scan text from a sheet and convert the contents to a file.
Maps - feature that gives street level view. Ofcourse, the handset needs to be connected to internet through GRPS or Wi-Fi or any LAN.
Office section - has support for PDF files(reader), printers, zip files, clocks with international synchronized time setting, wireless keyboard and the regular features like calculator etc.
Media section - has support for real player, flash player and the usual radio/music player/video. It comes with a screen scratch guard of its own and that can be replaced with a new one. Extensive list of card games and other pre-loaded utility applications, also allows to install new applications like the yahoo mail client.
Features I liked: Beep ring tone. Standard and very clean interface.Comes with a handy leather pouch, but cannot be worn like a regular pouch. Look and feel is excellent. It has a very rich looking interface.
It has a detailed call/SMS/data traffic logging mechanism. It should bevery useful to track the call duration, time of the call, internetusage etc. The home screen short cuts to various features (6 of them) One key shortcuts to contacts, calendar, Inbox (these keys can be customized)
Issues:
Camera: Not up to the mark as advertised. Still the pictures taken from it are good. Battery is not up to the mark as claimed by Nokia in the ads and the user manual. The standby mode time is quite good. But the talk time is not as advertised. In the 7 months, it got hung only once. The key response time is a lit bit on the slower side. No support for battery recharge by the USB port.
Verdict:
In general, I can say that this is an excellent phone but bit expensive. I would say that anyone who can afford this price with a liking for no nonsense, clean interface, not flashy but rich look can consider/buy this phone.
