Its been more than 6 months since I bought this phone to replace my E50. And this is my second communicator - I was using the 9500 a few years back.
The first impression was that the design was classier than the old communicator and that it was more sleeker and perhaps a tad lighter. The screen(both the small and the large one) was gorgeous.
The camers is quite reasonable and the photos were showable to my friends:D
The charging was amazingly faster and I am able to charge my phone completely(from near-empty)in less than 40 minutes.
The data cable moves away from the proprietary one to the mini USB format which saves me an extra cable to carry in my bag.
And we have a switch in the inside keyboard to illuminate the keys(on demand). Thats a neat touch and I can decide when I need the light to come on - so saves me some power.
Active notes is quite useful to me, and I did not know about that for quite some time - in the mad rush to just start using the phone I did not read the manual.
Theres not much wrong with the phone except for two things for me.
GPS receiver is not always functional - and I am not trying indoors or whilst moving:D It does seem a pain to get it going.
I havent heard of a S60 crashing phone. Believe me when I say that this crashes once every fortnight. I am not sure why this happens - may be because of some of the softwares that I have installed(Advanced call manager, Advanced Locks etc). My fundamental reason to move away from Windows powered mobiles is becase they are buggy and crash at the drop of a hat.
One more gripe is that I do not get too many cases for this mobile. I got a leather one through ebay India and that is just OK. I fail to understand why Nokia cannot release a couple of models for cases during the mobile launch.
Software bundled is OK, but Nokia does provide some business applications which are downloadable from its web site. The most usable software(at least IMO) was the Exchange software for synchronizing mails with Exchange. But, it felt basic, and I bought a RoadSync software from DataViz and I am happy.
Has some more features like Internet call etc, but I did not try that to be honest.
