Nokia Ngage QD - A Big Mistake
On 20.11.04, I made a big mistake of my life. I bought a Nokia Ngage QD - carried away by the media glitz, a flashy web site and a welcoming shop keeper. It is remarkable that the entire concept of Warranty is for Nokias interpretation and not what is Legitimate.
After 4 months of working, the cell suddenly developed a screen malfunction and a layer inside the LCD screen got a burn out resulting in a brown burn out mark in the centre of the screen and resulting in cracks in the inside thin layer.
The Care Centre Refuses to repair it under warranty and wants me to pay for it as this damage is out of warranty - that it has been caused due to excessive mishandling of the phone and dropping of it. First, they say I dropped it, somehow remarkably without having any external scratch on the surface of the phone and secondly it has mysteriously resulted in causing the burning of the inside of the screen of the phone.
What shocks me is that the customer is held to be a liar in these circumstances, that he has no personal dignity of his own - that as the warranty states, the warranty works only if Nokia considers it to be legitimate.
People would argue that there a million phones out there WORKING FINE... but then customer service is only for those who do have a problem... The service is bad, no doubt...
Those who feel that their is even a remote possibility that maybe their cell phone might stop working due to a manufacturing defect and dont want it to be labelled as their own mistake and be harrassed - dont buy this phone...!!!!
