Impressed by its impressive ads in PVR Cinemas during movies i got myself a N 70 in august 2006. It was truly an amazing phone with so many amazing features including the 2 MP camera n also a front camera!! Then I found a treasure of phone software for it and it was the most amazing phone I ever could have got a hold on. The signal reception was awesome and by airtel GPRS hack it doubled as my wireless modem for my laptop anywhere anytime totally free of cost, and mind you speed was awesome because of EDGE support. It was the best I ever demanded.
So far so good but it was just the starting of the worst night mare I could have ever had. One fine morning my phone started saying "Connection error" on every call I made nor was it able to connect to internet or receive call even if signal was just one short of max. And after two days it just started flashing "No Network" whenever I made a call though it showed network strength as full.Now I took it to service center and they said that it would be serviced in 3 days or in case of a major fault It would take about 10 days. I said okay and started waiting for my phone to be repaired. I used to enquire every third day for it and slowly and slowly 1 month passed and then finally I was told that my phone was repaired.
I went to receive the phone and was jumping with joy. But all my happiness vanished as soon as I received my phone as the same fault was exactly there as I had given. I had to give it again and believe me guys I received and submitted the phones 4 more times in next 3 months only to get the phone back in same condition. I lost the hope and so I didnt submit it anymore and complained to every nokia customer care e-mail and phone number I knew.
Finally after some persuasion the guys from nokia main center, Banglore helped me out and got my phone replaced.Now it was a spanking new Nokia N 70 and its now working fine and one of the best phones for its cost but the harrowing experience I had was the worst though later the guys from main center offered good support and treated me really as an VIP after I fired mails to every nokia customer care helpline so I was a bit satisfied but Nokia must improve its service center before the customers like me begin avoiding nokia owing to the poorest support I ever had(I also had an LG phone and their warranty support was awesome)The phone is very good, has a very good camera, is based on symbian series 60 which has a very good software support and hell lot of software available for it, got a very fast Bluetooth V2.0 as compared to other phones and hangs the least among all the smart phones I have used.
The network reception is also awesome as well as voice quality and the loud speaker.A few shortcomings of the phone is that its very prone to scratches, Its volume in earphone is a bit low and the battery life with normal usage is just about a day which is a bit less. Also its charger has a different interface as compared to normal charger so there might be a charging problem if you forget to carry your charger though there is a small convertor available for it.All in all a very good phone for the price it is available now, though the shortcomings are there but the advantages weight far more in its favour .
