The Xphone is the first model from the Taiwanese company HTC. This model is labelled as a Smartphone. The phone is on the likes of Nokia 6610 (in terms of its length), but the similarities end there. This phone runs Windows 2003 with ActiveSync, MSN Messenger, Games, GPRS, BlueTooth, IRDA and a PC Cable for your pleasure. It can double up as a video recorder, MP3 Player also. It has a 32 MB (Internal) Flash storage with a SD Card Slot, that allows you to get SD cards and insert for addtional storage. This phone has got everything you need for a smartphone....though no touch screens. The LCD is quite big, making Nokia feel smal;. The dot pitch is more improved on this display when you compare this with a Nokia. Its got a Flight Mode, which allows you to use the Phone without the Radio transmitter(forbideen to use a radio transmitter on an aircraft).
The other features like Email, MMS, all are functional and active(but they also depend on your service provider). The battery life is good, provided that youre not on the headphones all day long. This phone costs around 900 MYR. I have this phone with me and till today it hasnt jammed much. Although Windows does crash!, once a while. The only disadvantage is this phone does not have Java on it. HTC has released another model based on the same design: the O2 Xphone Mini, this has all the features of Xphone with Java too. If you want a decent looking phone, and want a different phone than the standard nokia, I would recommend this to all of you. For more details just google for o2 Xphone.
