May b am a bit late in getting his rvu bcs I catched the flick late.....ne ways the preface is my aunt due to some reason had to cancel the show tickets.....so she offered me the same on the condition that I will acompany my cousins....so it happened...I went.....
Now that we all know how the movie fared I will share some of my ideas on the same......The first scene rushi kapoor dancing on te track "Om Shanti Om" is cleverly included to sugegst the title of the scene the creativity of farah is seen in the minor details that the introducio is done like the 70’s with the broad font and the typical yellow clolur.So it actually like ur watching a old film....
The movie kicks off really fast with lots happening..not to mention SRK’s over acting (he cant help it..can he now....).The story has got no gas in it as it is a remake so no big surprises there.Using the duplicates was according to me a mere cheap idea of mocking the stars instead of in farah word’s "tributing them".The look alikes are there for mere fun.The story is fast in first half and almost at sonic speed in second.Teh end is like cramped in two scenes...poor timing...woof...now the sarcasm is done..lets see it from an unbaised point of view....shall we....(cant help .....SRK movie and no sarcasm by me not happening !!!!!)
The PLOT
Do I need to say it...isnt it obvious from the promos...ok there is guy "om" who dreams about being the love man of a famous actress named "shantipriya".He finds she is married to a producer "mukesh" seceretly but is having trouble in way that she cannot reveal that she is married to any1 or her acting career wud cease and so wud her hubby the producers.She gets preagnent and the producer in rage of losing everything kills her.Om trying to save her gets killed in the act.
Om is reborn the instant he is dead and later grows up to find out that mukesh is the villian and is still alive.He is the one who killed his lady loveHe decides to avenge him and does so bcs in our hindi movies "Akir tak sab theekhi ho jata hai" (everything fares well in the end)
The SONG’s
Vishal-Shanar, donno why the music directors are all duo mostly, from laxmikant-pyarelal to nadeem sharavan its few who make music solely its all two or more. (I Guess its two heads better than 1).few like "rehaman" can be the sole king of music..ne ways the music is fresh and has many shades thanks to farah again.All though the "Darde Disco " didn’t mix with the movie flow it was just thrown in like that.
My fav stands "doom taana" as it involves awsome effects with blending the current actors with veteran’s like sunil dutt, jitendra etc and its almost undifferentiable...good work..here the creativity of farah is noticebly awsome...the next is the on-shanti-om party song simply as it involves a lot of original stars and not (look alike’s...thank god)...its like in cost on 1 movie u see many stars (economical)
Other tracks go.... good..... audible.....
The ACTOR’s
SRK no comments dont get me started on it...over acted, looks aged now among teenagers like sirish and deepikaa...
Deepika new chick new face....fresh nice.She has a long way to go to make a mark dpends what she does next...so cant say much also in the current flick he has hardly any scenes where she can do smthng called act..she just plays beauty the maun light is ofcourse SRK...
Sirish talpade the famous iqbal guy well he is also sidelined.Also after iqbal and dor he is like gone...hope he comes with some good stuff in future.
Arjun rampal does his best with no expression’s...he suits best for villain as vilains didnt used to give any expression in 70’s..rem "Sara shaher mujhe lion ke naam se jaanta hai"....his first half is good villian and next half is like scared villian or u can say no villain at all....
others do farely well but in light of SRK they are just sidelined....
The VERDICT’s
Ok enough of boring analysis..I thought it was a pretty fare flick..thoiugh incredebly hyped by SRK’s 6 packs I think I wud give full marks to farah for the sheer creativity, the details etc that they worked on All the technical aspect was beautiful..The backgrounds, the songs fitted well just that the last part was just hurried thru which cud have been given some time and space.
Some lines are repeated numerous and I am saying numerous times like the one "if u want smthng desperatly then the whole cosmos is trying to make it available to you", and "picture abhi baaki hai mere dost"..cheeks but is irritating to hear again and again.I donno if any 1 has spotted it but farah has actually intelligently done some brand promo in the movie as well rem the bridge where SRK is talking to shantipriya’s poster in first half, well n second half there are numerous brand ad’s there and they get a good 5 mins shot with tag-heuer in middle taking most of the space and it goes well.Clever very very clever !!!! The movie has been well spent upon its obvious from scene 1.No compro’s on quality.Lots of colour’s, good sets, huge sets, beautiful sets and ofcourse its farah’s project so lots of dance nd music.
I am not a movie guy though I give it a try some times.What I mention here is just from my point of view I do not intend to hurt ne one’s intentions (I added this line so that I wud not be attacked by some of my SRK fan friends.....)
The flick is one time watch with lots of friends and have a blast...least I did.......
