This kind of movie comes once in a while like Alagi, Autograph, dhavamai dhamamirndhu. A big salute to thangar bachan did a remarkable effort in making this movie, I enjoyed his way of narrating the story . alagi is one of his movies and it is really a masterpiece. this movie is also one of those category and definitely one more feather to his hat.
Well about the movie, this is very simply narrated handled well with screenplay full of emotions, nostalgia is a the keyword for the movie. I can bet anybody watching the movie will go back to their school days.for sure. wonderfuly weaved script,
And the characters chosen are excellent naren, seeman(director of thambi), sneha and thangar bachhan himself. very very simple dialogues, excellent cinematography.
The village in the plot, having a school which is 75 years old and due to the lack of basic facilities and with the courtesy of the landlord, the school administration getting an order from government to shut down, these things comes as a shock to the loyal people of the school, so they are planning to take this issue with their old students and try to get help from them to make functional as before. some of the old students turned out to be leading citizens of the state and some become NRIs
and some doing the same old clerical or whatever jobs. the plot revolves around 4 people, Naren collector, Seeman director, Sneha school owner granddaughter and lady love of naren and thangar bachan as the friend and being good for nothing in the village. so he tries to bring these people to school and make them realise the importance of school and made them realise that they should contribute something to the school they have studied. in between some love tags .atlast they come together and patch up and vows to do something to the school.
Very simple plot, nothing to say much about this, but the roles played by these guys are excellent, particularly thangar and seeman are excellent, they prove to be better actors also. naren and sneha, well enacted the roles of childhood love and later emotional parts. Sheya’s did her role very well.
everybody would have come across these kinds of feelings someway or other.thangar is the frontrunner as the actor, director, cinematographer.
Worth watching this movie, everybody should watch this, and make us realise that we also need to do something to the school we have studied. nice lines in one of the song. we built so many temples, we rennovate houses, but there are no takers to rennovate or contribute some of the old schools without even having the basic facilities. this movie is a real eye opener.
We cant ignore the fact the initial part of the movie is little slow, and moves very slowly but later things gets into shape and make us to travel along with the movie.
music is very average, only one song meendum palliku pogalam is good, rest all nothing, background music is also above average. story, screenplay, cinematography all are excellent.
