Versatile Handheld

I have a Palm V which I bought in Nov 1999. It has only 2 mb memory as opposed to VX which has 8mb. However for my usage I have no problems with it. A year back I happenned to drop the Palm accidently and ever since then, I have had alignment problems on the screen. Quite often I have to reset the palm to set its alignmnet.

There are a number of good software programs available on the net as compared to the WIN CE format, and I am pleased with the support that one gets from PALM, They have an excellent customer service. Whenever I have a problem and mail my queries they have responed within a day and solved them. My kudos to them for this.

I mainly use the application to monitor my bank account transactions, keep record of my bills, my credit card usage etc. Also to record all my contacts and reminders. I cannot imagine being without the palm. I looking forward to the day when I can upgrade to one of the color screen models and the new o/s since nowadays most new programs come for the new o/s.

Thanks to Palm for having revolutionised the PDA industry. Recently Sony has been very aggresive and have been releasing new models every 2 months and these models get outdated in about 6 months time. In that respect Palm has been slow and probably loosing out on their market share of palm o/s PDA’s.

With the decrease in prices and the Palm PDA’s becoming available in India I am sure many more will be able to afford them.
