The moment I received my ticket from the ticketing counter, a Valet greeted me with a not-at-all-plastic but very real smile, which was a welcome break from the usual plastic smile we receive! Right from security scan through check-in and boarding aircraft, Valets ensure that we are comfortable in the not-so-comfy Indian Airports!:-)
FAs are very professional and do their job without any weight on their shoulders. I kept asking them something or the other(About magazines, seating etc) just to test their patience(I felt a bit bad that I was doing this, but being a critic, I need to stretch their patience a bit!) but the FAs were unperturbed and swiftly responded to my queries and never said anything that would put me down! WELL-TRAINED and VERY PROFESSIONAL!
Food:
Food was excellent, to say the least. There was an assortment of pastries and croissants, since it was an evening flight. And, RIght from the welcome drink to the post-meal coffee/tea, The FAs took good care of the gastronomical needs of travellers!
Magazines:
There is an in-house magazine called "Windows and Aisles" which reflects the seating in the Embraer aircraft! No middle-seating is the USP of Paramount!:-). The magazine was quite informative with hotel and tour deals. There were articles about lesser known but tourism oriented places down South India! I guess this is one of the few flights which offer Tamil newspapers on board!
I am sure this business model of "Only Business class and First class, with Business class at Economy class fares" will succeed, since the business class travel is booming in India and at the same time, Indians are very price conscious!
The only thing which could be a serious competition to Paramount could be FAs of Kingfisher! Juz kidding, anyways, serious competition could be expansion across India(esp North and West) and competing with the likes of Jet, King who have already expanded to the whole of India!
IFE was missing, but I usually dont look forward to watching movies or listening to music in domestic flights and so I dont look at lack of IFE as a big negative point. But, when other players are rushing up to offer IFE in all flights, a Business class operator may be expected to offer some entertainment!
My best wishes to Paramount!
