No words to appreciate the work!!

Well I don’t see Bengali movies and this one the first one I saw. I had heard a lot about the movie so got a copy from the local DVD store and saw the movie with subtitle on. It’s a movie which will leave a deep impression on you for long.

The story is simple about a family struggling to make their living. It starts with a little gal *Durga *stealing fruits from a neighbor’s tree and at the end of the movie, Durga ends up stealing ur calm. You will definitely be shaken by the real beauty. The movie is so simple but as they say, director puts life in a character comes true in this movie.

This marks the directorial debut of India’s best storyteller on celluloid. With hand held camera and bunch of novices he made one of most recognized Indian movie in world. The performances by everyone in the movie is truly awesome. See it to know how beautifully the movie is made.

The one scene in movie which I am sure I won’t forget for rest of my life is the train scene from this movie. For about 10mins there are no dialogues but its glues you to the screen. The way those 2 kids have performed on seeing an electric pole and train cant be defined in words. Ray has the habit of saying between the frames. He doesn’t express everything in a single conventional way. He uses new ways to speak up without a word being spoken. This movie makes every Indian proud. No words to describe this genius’ creation. Its a must watch for everyone of all ages.
