Oscar- refining our senses!

We all have heard of art for art’s sake. However not many of us understand the meaning of it. If you read ’’The Picture of Dorian Gray’’, you will like to read more of Oscar’s work and inherit a little bit out of the intellectual legacy he left for us.

This the first time I ever read any of Wilde’s work. I always read that Oscar has the art of being witty n humorous. Though I would not reveal the plot or the story, I would like to mention a marvellous character that Oscar drew with his pen- Lord Henry.

I found this character so amusing and he will intoxicate you too...I wanted to keep this book away when Henry started poisoning my mind..with his view on nation, art, music and murder...There is nothing right or wrong for this guy...there is nothing immoral for him...he is frank and blunt...he is dangerous. He influences the main character- Dorian, he poisoned me too!!

Here are my favourite quotes from the book-

Morals is the terror of society and religion is the terror of God!

You refine your senses through the means of soul and the soul by the means of senses.

Art should always conceal the artist and not reveal him

So go right ahead, my friends, pick up this book and start reading....REFINE YOUR SENSES !!!!
