Not too far in past, the cell phone was a luxury. The ultra-high airtime(What is that?) tariffs (Rs 16 per minute for an outgoing call and Rs 11 for SMS!) made it out of reach. Now, thanks to the telecom revolution, India has surpassed the Moores Law in tariff of cellular service. Now mobile service is almost as economic as basic telephony. The tariffs have dropped by over 90 percent in last few years. After this, few months back there was perceptible disparity between Pre-paid and post-paid tariffs.
