The Musical shock!!!

As usual, I woke up a bit late in the morning and switched on my computer to play some songs and found that there were none.My brother shud have deleted them sick of seeing them occupy atleast half of the 17 Gigs of HD space available. So many songs and I  do not have a backup on CDs!

There definitely was no scope for a showdown as he had already left for the office(Normally, leaves at around  7:30 A.M).With a lot of curses on my mind, I switch on my music system and set the  source selector to the TUNER hoping to listen to some songs selected by Sunaina Lal(She hosts a radio programme in the mornings).

There is nothing on 91MHz and I am frantically trying to set the antenna position suspecting a reception problem.

Imagine what would happen if everyone of u were to find out that the word music does not exist in the dictionary and the rest of the things in ur lives  perfectly normal.

Difficult to imagine?Atleast Maddy would feel so.right Maddy?

There are  millions of people all around the world for whom music is a source of life and if my imagination was to come true, unemployment wud peak and there wud be wide scale unrest across the world. It is worth billions and billions of dollars as a industry.

Theoretically speaking, music in itself doesnt contribute to the basic needs of human existence.look at the other species around u and u will agree with me.But my friend, dont u know that we are the superior of the living beings seen on this planet and  have evolved over a period of time to our present state. We have have made entertainment an integral part of our lives with sports, education, music constituting most of it.

The language of music is universal and most of us still cannot define music in scientific terms as it is something that is to be felt to be understood and not to be read. It is true that music has something magical about it in the way it relates to us be it Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Country etc in the many styles that exist.

Scientifically, humans can distinguish a frequency ranging from 20Hz to 20KHz and it is really hard to believe that we have used this limited bandwidth and created a variety in music so diverse that we have almost reached the saturation points.Actually, humans use the frequencies from 50Hz to 10KHz for communicating.

One thing that one can see today is that the unlimited songs that are coming out from almost all the languages are basically repetition of sorts. The vocabulary of the language that accompanies the music in the vocal form has almost reached its saturation.Typical example is the Hindi music(Popular Philmi music), where everybody who listens to the latest songs loves songs of the past and swear by them and somehow, the present generation of musicians are not able to churn out quality songs and impress us.The problem to me lies in the blatant use of music as a career option by too many and  thereby diluting the quality of the music  that comes out.Dont u see the state of the software professionals as a result of the software boom!?!

The result being that if u have listened to thousands of songs before in various languages, half of the songs that u will listen to in the future will tickle ur brain into believing that the tune or the wordings or both relate to some old song in some other language which u hav already heard. Atleast, I feel so!

One thing that is improving for sure is the quality of the recording and the preciseness of the music coming from the instruments that is perceivable to the ears .The day is not far when Technology would be so advanced that a Richard Marx, George Michael or a Kishore Kumar voice could be used at will for any lyrics and tunes of ur wish. U just need the software package! Lots of avenues to keep the music going for some more years.

Another feasible option is to work on Technology in such a way that we start communicating and creating music in a different Band width VHF(Very High Frequency i, e, 30MHz to 300MHz).Wouldnt that open up a GAMUT of music styles?

Abrupt end.

I know am not in the right category.but couldnt find one u know.

I will post some reviews on popular music in the future.

It does not make any sense does it?what was I intending to say? U decide and let me know as my brain is a bit muddled .
