I guess its got to to do with the driving style and the roads( highway or city).If it is in a city like bangalore, its quite an enviable figure you are getting. Our 1 1/2 yeear old Swift Zxi returns about 11 to 12 kmpl in city( bangalore) and 14 to 16 kmpl in highway.

The fuel tank of the unicorn can easily hold 18 ltrs..no wonder it looks likea 20 ltr tank..
