I wanted to sell a smarphone and thought of trying an online way. I went to Quikr.com as I had seen some ads somewhere.
It was very easy to post what I wanted. The site was very user friendly.
I had to submit my email id as well as a mobile phone no.
Of course the response would depend on the product and the price, so one cannot complain.
The thing I was not prepared for was to be spammed by other users of Quikr. Probably they presumed that I was a potential buyer for a mobile phone. I kept on getting SMS from different people offering me mobile phones. Here I was, out to sell something and got hit by brokers / sellers who were eyeing me as a customer.
I do not blame the site for it.
They should ensure that there is no unsolicited SMS that goes. Since everything goes through their site, perhaps they are desperate to offer this as a facility to merchants.
I have got an unsubscribe option! I have to send an SMS(I have to pay for it)!
If Quikr wants to be a survivor, it has to ensure that a default option is that a customer is not spammed. Do not forward junk to someone who is a seller/buyer.
