Racquetball

Racquetball is a very popular indoor sport world over. It’s fast pace and power combined with the agility of the players makes it a very exciting game. Its rules are similar to squash but without the dividing line on the front wall. The game provides one of the best workouts in a non-contact sport.

Research has shown that an hour of intense racquetball could burn an average of 1200 calories. But the sport by itself is quite simple and has a low learning curve.

The players have raquets and hit the ball off the front wall and side walls. The ball must hit the front wall on any return irrespective of how many side walls or ceilings it touches. The returner must then return the ball before it bounces twice on the floor.

The game builds a good degree of concentration and stamina rapidly. But beyond all that, its a game which can be played at any age and you can have fun. Take the case in the recent USRA championships where people were playing in the brackets from ages 10 to 80 years!!
