Avoid online booking of bus ticket

First of all to prove it a true review - here is my rebus complaint number - 10439775.

(The term seat in the below review refers to sleeper birth).

Let me tell you my experience first.(I will be brief)- booked a ticket to Baroda from Pune from Redbus. Please note that I am frequent traveler to baroda from Pune but I always use to book tickets from travel agency offices earlier I thought why to go to office and book the same ticket for same cost when I can do it online(I am a lazy person). So booked it online this time.

This was the mistake of my life. On the day of travel, I get a call directly from the travels office telling me that you have to travel on a different seat as the seat in the same bus has been double booked, I asked how?  He told me that you book online so it happens generally when you do so.

The nightmare starts when I reached in the bus and to my newly allocated seat it was half cut seat(the first sleeping birth where the entry door of the bus occupies half your seat). My original seat was allocated to another dude at the last moment just because he booked from the office and not form online site.

How and why it happened? When  you book online the office agents(travel office is an agency) don’t get the commission but the online site does(doesn’t matter even if you use the direct web site instead of Redbus). So the office folks change your seats in there bus seat roster and sell your good seats to the customers who book from offices and you travel on worst seats of bus.

Solution- Book from any damn office, your seats wont get changed.

Another thing to be careful is that when you book it online and you get a call that the bus is cancelled you will have to travel in another bus on another seat, its NOT cancelled actually but your seats are sold to someone else.:)
