Reliance - Totally Prejudiced Against !

Well,

here I am again, ready to write about Reliance Postpaid Services.

After a very very very bad experience with Sify ’’Broadband’’ , I somehow managed to convince my mom to go in for Reliance. I had always been attracted to Reliance’s services, but thrz a certain prejudice that goes with it. ’’What?? Reliance?? Na na dont take it !! Have u ever given a thought to the bills that they send you??’’, were all the hyper questions put forward before me. But I had done my homework - consulted a lot of people in my area and finally on 22nd June, 2005 decided to jump in and get a Reliance postpaid connection and add my name to the ever-increasing Reliance family.

Getting a postpaid connection :

Getting a handset was too simple. Just walked into Reliance Webworld Express and bought a LG 2130 ( Moonlight Phone ). The number selection was also done and I was told that my fone wd be activated by the next day when the address verification would be done. The sad part of the verification was, that a total number of 5 people verified our address. Were we a part of ISI or something like that that they checked our address so many times ?? Finally, our number started on 25th June, 2005 after repeated contact with the local webworld and customer care. I thought that my tribulations had just begun. I started to wonder if the accusations made by people against Reliance were really true ? No, I was wrong.

Within a day or two, my connection started working smoothly.

I have opted for the New Joy 149 Data Plan.

Local RIM2RIM - 99 paise    STD RIM2RIM - Rs.1.79

Local other phones - Rs.1.79    STD Other phones - Rs.2.49 .

The monthly plan is Rs.650 which includes R Connect freedom plan combined with the New Joy 149 plan. So the rental for the plan is included in the Rs.650 RConnect rental itself. Thats a cool choice, bebe!!!

Network :

The network bars in LG phones are horizontally spread. It took me a little time to get used to it since I was so accustomed to Nokia’s vertical bars. The signal was & is invariably almost present. 4-5 bars of network strength. I stay in Dombivli West, one of the many outlying suburbs of Mumbai and the secondlast suburb ahead of which, Maharashtra-Goa telecom circle starts. Inspite of this, the network is fantastic.

Phone features & Services :

The phone is a little uncomfy if you are used to Nokia. With the passage of time however, it gets a lot easier.

Reliance Postpaid Services :

Reliance’s service Rocks !!! Its good and absolutely RELIABLE. Reliance even withstood the recent deluge in Mumbai and kept communications alive. I use my reliance mainly for R Connect and find it to be supremely comparable to any other internet connection. Being a dial up, it fares a little slow in terms of download speed but that can be forgiven. R World is decent enough though I am not a big fan anymore. The novelty has worn off.

Reliance Billing :

The first bill I got was of Rs.275 ( good enough for the first month cycle). Yesterday I gt my second bill of Rs.1856/-. Comparing to the usage that we had in the last month it seems quite reasonable.

Reliance is very efficient in sending bills at the right time. Besides, the CLIP charges for Postpaid are just Rs.25 and itemized billing is Rs.25. Thats cheap !!!!

I definitely vouch for Reliance. I m joining my hands in the CDMA revolution as well, converting to Reliance shortly from my current GSM fone.

Reliance - The most reliable wireless network in India : Absolutely YES !
