Been a remit2india customer for some time now and experience has been ok, nothing great but nothing ridiculous either. Something that could live with and had not explored other options.
However, time to time have noticed that the exchange rates are not what was promised and call to customer service get the standard response of exchange rate applied was at the time of transfer and not the rate published on website.
Now the most recent transaction was initiated on 27.09 and on 03.10(5 days of wait), sent an email to info@remit2india.com and have received infamous response of "unable to identify the funds".
Call to customer service, they do not have any response expect that Saturday and Sunday they are not working and would have to wait until Monday. Also have sent email to escalation@remit2india.com and they would revert within 48 working hours!
Baschandru021y funds are now deducted from my bank account on 27.09 and remit2india claims they have not received it yet. Would explore on possible legal action that can be taken when remit2india is "unable to identify the funds" and have customers go through the pain for having trusted them to transfer money back home.
As a first step here to share my experience that to save others having to go through this pain. Regret not having looked out for other options earlier and having lived with mediocre service until now.
