I signed up for Remit2India recently, and my first transaction ever ran into innumerable problems. First off, I had asked for a direct account credit to my bank account in India. For some reason - the customer services team do not know why and are not interested in helping me find out why - the direct account credit failed.
So they sent a bank draft instead to my home address listed in my profile. Only the courier could not find my house, and thus returned the draft back to Remit 2 India. The first I heard about this issue was only AFTER the bank draft was returned, in a mail saying "please update your account details and mail us back" - which I did the same day (26th of January).
I was "assured" by customer services that the money would be transferred, or the DD sent to my house by the first of February. I have not heard back from them since (26th of Jan till 5th of Feb). I tried to get in touch with customer services during the week, but the lines were busy, or their phone system was not working, or the website is not working, or ... NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NRI MONEY TRANSFERS!
