Well I bought two Samsung ACs Model no AW12ZKB last year.I went for samsung because their website better explained the product as well as I was able to decide whether
to go for 1 ton or 1.5 ton by the faqs given at their website.I went for 1 ton because we have long power cuts in our area.Also there is low voltage problem so most of the time we have to run ac on genset.I have 15 KVA Kirloskar silent genset. I already have one 1.5 ton National Air-conditioner in a room that is bigger than standard room .So I went for two 1 ton acs for two separate rooms as I was able to run both of them on genset(as 1 ton ac consumes 1300 watts compared to 1900 watts consumed by 1.5 ton acs).Initially I was worried if 1 ton ac undercooled. But to my surprise samsung 1 ton ac cooling was excellent even in hot months like May .It easily brought the room temp to 22 degree C after 4 to 5 hrs of continues running.(I normally set thermostat at 22 degree C).It made room comfortable in 25 to 30 mins in ground floor room and 45 to 60 mins in top floor room. Noise level is also extremely low.Another thing is that if you have good stabilizers you can run this ac on even low voltages like 130 volts.Design is also excellent.Remote has got night glow buttons and is easy to Operate.
Only thing I dont like that its rear fan was making noise as It was striking the the plastic frame during the operation.The problem was there in both the acs. I called samsung dealer and he sent his serviceman who adjusted few screws and said that during transportation from the manufacturing site some screws may get loose.The problem was rectified.But again after 10 to 15 days noise reappeared.Then I myself took the ac out of the frame and noticed that plastic frame of the rear fan was touching the fan blades. The problem was same on both the ac. So adjusted both the frames. Pressing bent frame, I put a 1 cm piece of wood between the correctly aligned frame and iron chassis.I did in both the acs.
Now there is no noise and is acs performance is excellent.I suppose that may be some rare manufacturing defect as both the acs were made in same batch resulting in slightly bent frames.
Apart from this small issue I am satisfied with the product.
