I bought this player just because I had Samsung TV and thought the same company product would be a better choice to watch movies etc. Soon I realized that a product at Rs. 3999 is not a good choice. First I had personal bad experience with the remote control which consumes batteries totally in max 12 hrs - I tried duracell, eveready, panasonic & BPL all.
When I complained this to the Samsung customer care I was told that I am using the duplicate batteries and should use the original ones. This is really crazy as I was wondering about the guy’s God vision who has not even visited my place and inspected the batteries. he was able to reach a conclusion just over the phone call. I had purchased all those batteries from the Food Bazaar and have been using similar on other remotes. Second, more generic observations on the product:-
The DVD player is a bad MP3 player. It plays only the folder and if you have many folders with mp3 files in them you would have to manually change over - unlike the Onida and Sony which I saw my parents using can play all the songs on the CD regardless of the folder arrangement. The support person who came to demostrate the functionality told that it is not supported by samsung .
You can hardly operate the DVD without the remote; like I am forced to do because of the problem mentioned above.
There is no support available. I have made numerous calls and no one bothers to resolve the problem. Everytime they say it is the batteries or the way we use this is not good.
