After long am writing a review on this site again. initially I was a committed user of nokia but since samsung started launching the touch phone products I was pulled by it. my first samsung ph was samsung star the very first model it released, then wave1 and now am the owner of samsung galaxy-si9003 for 2 days. I was always a big fan of samsung since my star and the wave gave me superb satisfaction and definitely this galaxy s adds more flavour of to the list.
I also feel proud to be the first one to write a review of this product. though I intend to make my review short and concise.
The very first thing that I would like to mention about the ph is its slim stylish gorgeous look!! when ever I use to take out my ph from my pocket in the public I seem to become a celebrity for the moment as everyone’s eyes are on me. The large 4" super clear LCD display is one of its major plus features. Its really fun to surf net , view images and vidoes in such a huge screen. The touch sensitivity is quiet good but after using a super amoled display in my wave1 its little disappointing to degrade in super clear LCD but the company also reduced the price from rs25, 000 to rs19, 900 which should be kept in mind.
Another great feature of the ph is its superb net speed specially 3G. Here I would like to specify an important note to the readers that this ph supports both HSPDA/ HSUPA where as in the box its mentioned only HSUPA which initially made me confused to buy the product as HSUPA phones does not support high 3G speed as HSPDA modles but not to worry its HSPDA @7.2mbps and HSUPA @5.6 mbps which will give you the ultimate 3G experience( though in current price of 3G i’ll become a pauper).
One disappoinment is the ph comes with a 5mg camera but without any led flash. it makes the user difficult to take images in less sunny weather thoguh the image quality is superb in bright day light. another irritating feature is the auto lock feature which cannot be disabled manually. It means each time after you put the ph in stand by the display will get locked on its own and everytime you have to unlock it by pressing the unlock key provided at top right corner of the body. The user manual which samsung provides with the product I most bogus. It litterally contains no information about the product and you have to discover them all on your own !
Another important point that my readers must know is after receiving an sms you will find no forwording options on the screen which made me really disappointed unless I "discover" later that if you press and hold the message for 2-3 sec then a list of options appear on screen such as delete, forword, attatch, insert text etc etc...so the sms es can be forworded...oh...what a relief...
I always wanted a metallic body for such a ph as I had it in my wave but also the metallic body would have make it much heavy to carry it in shirt pockets. The music quality is superb and so is the loudspeaker. The inbuilt memory is 4GB out of which 1.5 GB is alloted for users to store applications and multimedia files. The external sd card can be extended upto 32GB though samsung does not provide an sd card with the package. Will have to buy one. The battery life is quite ok. With an average use of 10-12 calls, 30 sms es and 3-4 hour radio usage it will last about 1.5 days.
The android market has thousands of applications that cant be easily downloaed to the ph for many more exciting features...though still am not able to find any games installed in the default mode (dont know may be will discover suddenly). It comes with a 1 GH processor which really makes the performance smooth...and can be updated to the latest gingerbread verssion. The task manager is of very much help and so is its excel, word, powerpoint, pdf readers.
Overall am very very satisfied with the product and I assure my readers that they wont be at a loss.
Am not that tecnical expert to explain all the minute features of this product but here I want to give a consise basic approach to my readers about the ph. Am sure soon we shall have a detailed tecnchandru021y explained review about the product on this site.
Anyways I hope that this very basic review would atleast help readers to have an idea about the product. The ph has lots lots lots more features ....really it is a galaxy in itself.
