With deep regret, I have to mention the horrible situation that I am undergoing after buying a SAMSUNG 40" LED TV. The 6th day after buying when I was watching a movie on a particular scene the TV became milk white and nothing was visible. I had to wait for couple of seconds thinking that its a part of the movie however realised that the TV has gone to a hang state. Turned off everything and then turned it on and everything became normal. However raised a complaint with Samsung and the engineer who visited my place informed me that they can identify the problem only if it happens again.
I should definitely mention that the movies that I watched on this TV till 21-Apr-10 (60th day of buying the TV) was amazing - the picture quality was fantastic!
On 21-Apr-10 I was watching a movie and in a particular scene the TV blacked out. I thought it is again the same problem and used the usual way of restoring normalcy. However the TV never turned on till date (23-Apr-10). My repeated calls to the Customer Care routed me to a local service centre and with very great difficulties and follow-up for 2 days brought me a service engineer who was a bit energetic. He opened the panel and told me that some foam which is supposed to be there in the circuit board is missing and he can replace it. Thinking that I am noticing his assistant started soldering the board which upsetted me a lot. I told him to stop everything close it and write a strong report to replace the TV.
Imagine the situation of a person paying a Lakh rupee to buy this faulty product and somebody on the 60th day trying to open it and changing something. I called the showroom where I purchased and the showroom guys are very smart to convince me saying that they will do anything for my satisfaction. However the second time I called them - Mobile ringing. No response, tried again, the mobile is switched off - the land line says that nobody is free. The showroom sales person who brain washed me informed me not to call him as he is not concerned with the issue.
Now I have a message that the faulty part will be replaced in the next 5 days and the replacement will happen in the next 45 days - do not know whether I will be spending my life on the phones to get this done. I do not want to blame the product as it is amazing however SAMSUNG should take the responsibility of replacing the product as it carries a manufacturing defect!
I just want to know whether this is something which happened to me alone or this has happened to somebody else!
