I purchased a Samsung LED TV model number UA40D5000 in Bangalore on May 9, 2012 at Balaji Electronics in Rajajinagar. On September 7, I saw a dark band (about 6" in height) on the top of the screen.
The band ran from left to right and as it reached the left it became less dark. I called the Samsung Service guys and told them about this and also insisted that they replace the set. However, they were not ready to do that and after talking to the supervisor, they said that they would replace the panel.
The service person replaced the panel on Sep 10, 2012. And he showed it to me that the "black band" problem was gone. He also indicated that it was those "LEDs" that cause the problem. Great...right.???....Not really. Just one hour after he left a new problem cropped up. The picture started to keep rolling and not stay put.
Again, i am back on the phone calling support and going thru the usual drill.the painful thing is that the supervisor at the service center does not want to connect me to the superiors. I just want the set to be replaced. I should have gone for a sony. I am sick and tired of this. If these guys do not get it right this time, i will have take a stringent course of action.
