Read this review after gurusmaran ’s. He has comprehensively covered all the facts around the movie.. cast, plot outline etc etc. Scarface is truly one of the classics. Artistically crafted screenplay and sharp editing have this movie rolling over at a fast pace.
The pace is perfect to enable both, the actors to display the subtleties fo their skill, and keep the plot turning over maintaining the excitement. Each of the scenes isfinely crafted and like the russian dolls the scenes wrap around the core of the plot and keeping adding substance to the entire film.
Editing it well has skimmed the movie of all fat. The movie has a long running time (170 min), every minute of which has been well thought of and is highly memorable. There are some scenes that stand out in the movie but it would spoil the fun for you. I think the best part of the movie, would have been its seamlessness and stark reality.
That is a great deal to Al Pacinos presence which seems to rub on the oter cast as well. But being honest this was meant to be Al’s and he has done great justice to his character. The character of Scarface is unimaginable without Al pacino (Its like Terminator withou Arnie .. does’nt work). Could have written a lot more .. infact I think I will when I have some more time.
In short, you just have to watch this movie, ifnothing else than at least to get those people to stop staring at you when you say you have not watched ’’Scarface’’. OMIGOD.. you have not seen it yet ?Beg, Borrow, steal.. NO EXCUSES!
