Just the view of things to come... Google’s Gmail isn’t even wide open yet and Yahoo added 100MB to free email account and now rediff 1GB.. Do you still need a reason ?
I don’t think this is a knee jerk reaction but a very good business strategy to go give email customers space before competition takes off. Once the user base is created rediff can go in for advanced advertisements strategies.
I feel this will help rediff gain the critical user base... If you ask me will I invest in Rediff?
Yes!.... rediff has stood the test of time and I have phull confidence the management and top executives have long term plan for this portal.

Now the things to brush up and improve....
Most important aspect is rediff doesn’t give you the option to view full email headers.... i.e., in the event of you receiving any unsolicited obnoxious email you won’t be able to track the source IP address and email server that delivered the mail. of cource you can take help of police...but thats the later part.
