I am not generally one to write such bad review about someone. However, what they have done is deserving of this review.
I ordered lifestyle gift vouchers from their site on Nov 20th. Though I was aware of the issues, however, the likes of Flipkart did not have this item. The payment went through and I received two back-to-back emails telling me that the order is confirmed and "Expected Delivery Date" is Nov 26th. I had all but forgotten about this purchase as it was a gift for someone. However, when I happened to check with them on Nov 28th, they had still not received the coupons.
The customer support is interesting. The call went through and someone picked up the phone. However, that is where the good part ends. Internally they had no idea as to what happened to the product. The person on phone was telling me internal processes that they had placed the order but merchant did not complete it. I told him quite politely that this is your internal mess, please do not tell it to me. You commit, you do not deliver and then you do not even know where the order is. I was also told of a software bug that the computer calculates dates including weekends, where as most of the merchants do not work over weekends. I again politely reminded him, to deal with his internal issues himself, and just tell me where the heck my order is.
The item has still not been delivered. The guy was guessing that it can happen in a day or two. Let’s see. These people should shutdown their website and go work with Flipkart to learn how to do e-commerce. I will not call them a cheat, however, it is one hell of a messed up site/company.
Do not buy anything from them. Go to a physical store and get it in case it is not available at the likes of Flipkart.
Edit-1: Sent a mail to their customer care, yet to receive any response after 12 hours.
Edit-2: 20 days and the item has not been shipped till date, customer service sends a standard response.
Edit-3: Indiatimes finally, gave me a AWB for Aramex courier company after 1 month of placing order. The courier company never delivered the item and one fine day the item started showing up as delivered. They are not able to show me who signed for the item and I am not getting any response from Indiatimes for this issue.
Edit-4: I got a list of senior folks in Aramex from ebay forums and CC’ed it to all of them. This had an immediate impact and the package was located. The courier guy had delivered it to the security and forged the signatures for the recipient. However, cannot blame Aramex for this, as it can happen to anyone. Still wondering whether to file a consumer court case against Indiatimes for the service issues.
Learned a valuable lesson, never order from anyone other than Flipkart and use Cash-On-Delivery always!
