I booked Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Deluxe Package(BY 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser) for my self and My parents. Three people total payment made full in advance by cheque on 1st February 2012. Then all my problems started.
We were informed at the last moment that my Dad cannot travel since his age is more than 65, stating that Chinese authorities have changed the rule and hence he can’t travel. We believed them and cancelled my dad’s travel, and later(once we are at Nepal) found that is a cheating case, the information was not true. there were no change in VISA age related rule.
But they did not refund the money then.
They changed our travel dates. Did not provide Poornima darshan for which they had taken extra money. They changed our travel duration saying visa is not available and reduced the 13 days travel to a 7-8 days travel,
they did not provide the Deluxe package as well. We were forced to travel in uncomfortable bus like cattle. Worst places were offered for stay, and open toilets / grounds to use. We still adjusted. It was very pathetic for us.
After coming back, (July 2012), I had asked for refund. I received a cheque(postdated) after 100 emails phone call and other requests. The cheque amount is only for my dad’s portion and little amount to shift us from 4x4 to a Bus. nothing else, no interest, nothing to spoil our holidays. Then at the date of cheque submission they requested to wait for another 25 days.
5. Even I waited for one more month and submitted the cheque, but the cheque got bounced due to insufficient fund.
I am end of my Wit, not sure what to do!.
